Taking Care Of Carpet In Your Business
If you are a small business owner that has carpeting throughout your establishment, you will want to take the time to regularly clean it to keep it looking new. Here are some ideas you can use to help keep your business carpet looking its best.
Routine Cleaning
Carpeting will become dirty after people are constantly walking upon it, so you will want to regularly take care of it so that dirt does not build up too quickly. Make sure you have a procedure in place where your carpeting will be vacuumed every few days to keep it from becoming grungy looking. If you have a cleaning service come into your business, make sure they take care of the carpeting every time they come to do their cleaning procedure.
Shampooing
You should take the time to regularly shampoo your carpeting to keep it looking nice. Vacuuming alone will not keep your carpeting clean as dirt can sometimes become embedded deep within the fibers of the carpeting from people pushing it down when they walk upon it. You should give your carpeting a deep cleaning at least once a month so it maintains its color.
Stain Removal
It is inevitable that at some point you will get a stain within your carpeting. It is best to treat a stain while it is still wet so that you have a better chance at removing most of the material before it sets into the fibers. Never wipe a stain with a cloth or sponge in a way where you may spread it further throughout the material. Instead, blot the stain with a clean cloth or towel.
Always blot starting at the outside edges of the stain and work your way toward the middle of the stained area. This will ensure that the stain does not spread to other areas of the carpeting.
Removing stains usually can be done with a mixture of half water and half vinegar. You can use this mixture in a spray bottle and then blot it after saturating the carpet with the cleaning solution.
Doing this a few times will cause the stain to fade, and you may be able to get all of the foreign matter out of the carpeting without it becoming discolored. You can try using commercial grade carpet cleaning solutions if the vinegar and water mixture does not do the trick on its own.
