The Value of Locksmith Services

There are few things worse than coming home from work to find your home has been broken into. Sadly, this happened to me not long ago. My name is Jana, and I’m the single mother of two little girls. After reporting the burglary, a police officer suggested that I call a locksmith. The locksmith asked if I had any spare keys around the house that may have been stolen. Sure enough, I had some hanging on a key rack, and they were gone! I was worrying about jewelry and electronics; I never even thought to look for my keys. That night we replaced all my locks and rekeyed my car. To be extra safe, the locksmith made his next stop at my parents. (I had keys to their house on that key rack.) Locksmiths offer a valuable service; I’m happy to share why they're so great!

Three Types Of Light Therapy Devices

Light therapy is an ancient practice. In ancient times, exposure to sunlight was believed to improve physical and mental health outcomes for patients suffering from a wide range of illnesses and injuries. Modern science has turned light therapy into a more regulated and effective form of treatment for skin conditions, circulation problems, and mood disruptions.

Today's FDA-approved light therapy devices emit specific wavelengths of visible light. They come in a wide range of shapes and sizes for use all over the body. When choosing a light therapy device, consider the following light wavelength options to ensure you get a device that will help you with your specific health concerns.

Red Light Therapy Devices

Red light therapy is one of the most common forms of modern light therapy. Many people use medical devices that emit red light at a wavelength of 633 nanometers for its physical effects. This wavelength of light can help with wound healing by increasing the skin's rate of cellular regeneration. This effect can also reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Red light at this wavelength has also been shown to improve circulation, which can reduce cellulite and remove toxins from the skin. Some people also use red light therapy for seasonal affective disorder or other mood disruptions.

Blue Light Therapy Devices

Some light therapy devices emit blue light at a wavelength of 415 nanometers. This bright blue light is often used to treat seasonal affective disorder by naturally increasing the body's production of serotonin in the same way blue-toned sunlight does. Many people also use blue light therapy to treat oily skin and acne. Blue light can kill some bacteria that cause acne and decrease the amount of sebum the skin produces. The overall effect of blue light on acne-prone skin can treat the root causes of outbreaks. And unlike sunlight therapy, the bright blue LEDs used in light therapy devices don't emit skin-damaging UV radiation.

Combination Light Therapy Devices

For patients with general skin concerns or mood disturbances, light therapy devices that emit a combination of effective wavelengths can be highly effective. Patients who want to experience the full potency of light therapy can also use these devices. When choosing a multi-wavelength light therapy device, make sure to only purchase an FDA-approved product that uses LED lights that only emit very specific wavelengths of visible light. Also, pay attention to additional features. Although light therapy already improves circulation, some devices may combine acupressure therapy with light therapy for enhanced results.
